Is the treatment painful?
Sclerotherapy feels like small pinpricks. EVLT and mini-phlebectomy are done under local anaesthesia; most patients describe pressure rather than pain, and mild soreness for a few days after.
How long is recovery?
You walk out the same day. Desk work is usually possible within 1–3 days after EVLT and right after sclerotherapy; sport after about a week. Compression stockings are worn for the period your doctor sets.
Will the veins come back?
A treated vein is closed and does not reopen. Varicose disease itself is chronic, so new veins can appear over the years; a follow-up scan and, if needed, a small touch-up keep the result stable. No clinic can promise that new veins will never appear.

Short flights are usually fine after a few days in compression stockings; your doctor gives a personal recommendation, especially for long-haul flights.
